This Group Policy Editor settings process can only be applied by Windows 10 users. If you are a Home edition user of Window 10 then sorry you are not being able to use this process. By using this Group Policy Editor settings, you can be able to stop the Windows 10 to update automatically.

To begin this, open the Run command box by following the aforesaid procedure. You can also get the Run command box by opening the Windows search bar. After that type Run on this bar and then press the Enter button. By doing this, you will see that the Run box will appear.

Now on this Run command bar type gpedit.msc and then click on OK, this will open the Group Policy Editor window. After that from this screen select on Computer Configuration and then on Administrative Templates.

Later again if you want to turn on the Updates facility of Windows 10, then you need to follow the same procedure as discussed above. But this time select on Enabled from the left section on this Configured Automatic Updates window and then hit on OK.

Way 3: Turn On Set As Metered Connection


This facility of stopping Windows 10 update can only work if and only you are using WiFi network to connect to the internet. However, if you are using an ethernet connection to connect your system with the internet, then this process will fail to work for you.
