Method 3: Reinstall the USB Host Controller

After that, select one of the USB Host Controller and right-click on those items. Thereafter, click on the Uninstall option to remove it.

Now, a new dialog box will pop up on the system screen and ask you to confirm the Uninstall process. In the next, if you will find a checkbox next to the Delete the driver software for the device, click it and select Uninstall.

Step 6

Do repeat all the steps mentioned in the above section to uninstall each USB Host Controller items present in that section.

Method 4: Check the Power Management Settings from the Device Manager

By default, Windows switches your USB controllers off when they are not in use to save power. On the other hand, it switches them back on again when they are required. 

Woefully, sometimes this strategy does not work as expected, and your device is unable to switch your USB controllers back on again.

To rule this out as the reason of the USB ports are not working Windows 7, just stop Windows from Managing Power to the USB controllers.

In the next, repeat Step 2 and Step 3 for all the USB Root Hub device located in the list of Universal Serial Bus Controllers branch.

Method 5: Check the USB Ports
