In this case, take note that if you can’t boot from the Windows DVD, then you have to go to the BIOS options of your device. Now, you have to be sure that you have selected and enabled the option with the help of which you can boot from the CD/DVD.

Steps to Follow:

  1. Once your system completes the booting process, now you will be able to go to the Windows setup page. After that, you need to tap on the Next button in order to continue.
  2. After that, you have to left-click or tap on the Repair your computer option which is situated in the next window.
  3. Now, you have to choose the Troubleshoot button and select the Automatic repair button from the Advanced options.
  4. Once you are done with the steps, choose the Windows 8 or Windows 10 OS with the help of which you want to repair.
  5. Now, you have to wait for some time until the Automatic repair process completes and after that, you need to repair the computer again without the Windows 8 or Windows 10 DVD.
  6. After completing all of the steps, check if you still get no boot device found message or not. If yes, then you have to go to the next method.

Method 2: Run the Troubleshooter

Several users have reported that you can get rid of this no boot device found error message simply by running the troubleshooter. In case, if you can’t access the Windows normally, then you can run the troubleshooter. However, if you can’t complete this process, then you have to complete the process by using the safe mode.

  1. Firstly, in the search box, you need to write the Troubleshooter and choose Troubleshooting option from the menu.
  2. Now, choose the Windows update from the list as well as you have to tap on Run the troubleshooter button.

  2. If the Command prompt starts, you have to run the following commands:

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c: /offwindir=c:windows

chkdsk c: /r

  • If these can’t fix this error, then you have to use  DISM scan instead. To perform that, you have to run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command.

After performing all these steps, you will be able to fix this no boot device found error on your own.

Method 4: Configure Computer’s Boot Order

You can also configure the computer’s boot order from the BIOS to fix this error. In that case, you have to follow these 

  1. First of all, you have to insert the Windows installation disc or USB into the affected computer and restart it.
  2. No sooner than the computer starts the booting process, you have to go to the BIOS settings and configure the computer’s boot order to boot from your installation media instead of its HDD/SSD.
  3. Steps to get into the BIOS will vary from one computer to another. After completing all these steps, you need to save the changes and exit the BIOS.
  4. If you are prompted to perform this action, you have to press any key to boot from the installation media.
  5. After that, you have to select your language, time zone and keyboard layout preferences. Once done, you need to tap on the Repair your computer button.     
  6. Once you reach the window, click on the Install Now button which is situated at its center.
  7. Locate and click on the Repair your computer in the bottom left corner of the window.
