Solution 2- Manually Change the DNS Server

Step 1

At first, press the Windows and X keys on the keyboard and after that, select Network Connections from the available option.

When the Properties window appears on the display, scroll down below and select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option.

Now, enter the 8.8.8.8 DNS server address. You also have to enter the 8.8.4.4 as an alternate DNS server address.

Step 1

First, press the Windows + X keys together on your keyboard and select Device Manager from the available option.

Step 2

When the Device Manager windows open, then try to locate the Network adapter. After that, right-click on it and select the Uninstall option.

Step 3

Next, a confirmation message will appear on the screen. You should click on the Yes button.

Then, mark the dialog box beside the Delete driver software for this device and after that, tap on the Uninstall button.

Step 4

Once you have deleted the drivers, then reboot your PC. When your computer starts, then the default driver will be installed.

Solution 4- Disable Windows Firewall

Sometimes, after disabling the inbuilt Windows Firewall, you can quickly resolve the problem. For that, first of all, proceed to the Control Panel.

After that, you have to click on the System and Security link. Then, select the Windows Firewall from the available option.

Now, a new page will pop up on the screen. From there, you should drop down and tap on the Turn Windows Firewall on or off option which might be located at the bottom left corner.

Solution 6- Disable and Enable Network Adapter

Step 1

In the beginning, open the Control Panel of your Windows 10 system and after that, navigate to the left pane and click on the ‘Networking and Sharing Center’ option.

Step 2

Now, click on the ‘Change adapter settings’ link. Next, what you need to do is to right-click on your current Network Adapter and select the Disable option.

Step 3

This action will turn off the Network Adapter. Again, right-click on the Network Adapter and choose the Enable option.

Solution 7- Use netsh Command

Sometimes, you can fix the problem by simply running the netsh commands.

First, open the Command Prompt as administrator. When the Command Prompt opens, then enter the given below command and press the Enter key after every command.

netsh int ip reset

netsh winsock reset

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /renew

Once all the commands are successfully executed, then again reboot your computer.

After running these commands, your IP address will be reset as well as it will clear the DNS cache. Then, surely this issue will not appear anymore.

Solution 8- Reset the Modem

In case, you encounter that the problem is with your computer, then it can be resolved by simply resetting the Modem. 

For that, you should press the Power button on the modem to turn it on.

Then, wait for 30 seconds and again press the Power button to turn on your modem. 

You should wait until the modem completely turns on, then check if the issue still occurs or not.

Solution 9- Start your Computer in the Safe Mode

This is another solution that you might apply to fix the problem. To enter Safe Mode on Windows 10, you should follow these steps.

Step 1

Move to the Start menu and tap on the Power button. Next, you should hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click on the Restart button.

Step 2

Now, three options will appear on the screen. Tap on the Troubleshoot button. Next, navigate to the Advanced section.

When your device restarts completely, press the F5 key to start the Safe Mode.

Solution 10- Deactivate Internet Protocol Version 6

There are basically two types of IP addresses, v4, and v6.  If you encounter DNS server is not responding error on your computer, you might be able to resolve it by disabling version 6.

To deactivate it, at first, navigate to the Network Connection.  Next, you should right-click on the network connection and choose the Properties option.

Then, find out the Locate Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and disable it. Now, click on the Apply button to save the changes.
