SMS with phonelink : which phones work and which don't

Here is a list of phones known to work (or not) with [phonelink] for dialing and/or sending sms.

As Phonelink relies on [gnokii] for handling the communication between the IT and the phone, this information is true for every app that is also based on gnokii (aka cell phone tool). You can also find information on phones working with gnokii [here].

Phones known to work

• Motorola U6 PEBL (AT)
• Motorola W490 (AT settings. Both Incoming and Outgoing SMS/Calls work)
• Motorola Razr [original] V3 (AT)
• Nokia 6021 (sending, monitoring, delivery report and replying to SMS works; monitoring of calls connects but doesn't notify)
• Nokia 6085 (model = series40, rfcomm = 1)
• Nokia 6130
• Nokia 6230i
• Nokia 6233
• Nokia 6234
• Nokia 6280
• Nokia 6500 Classic (driver=6500, rfcomm=1), outbound works for SMS and calls, inbound fails for same
• Nokia 6822

• Nokia N95 8GB (driver AT rfcomm 4) inbound sms notification fails
• Nokia E51 (sending SMS and monitoring calls only, driver AT, rfcomm=2/4 - phone randomly changes DUN BT channel between 2 and 4 sometimes, without any obvious reason - maybe bug in firmware?)

• Sony Ericsson w810i (driver AT), rfcomm =2, firmware version cxc1250317 r4ea031, send and receive sms, call works.
• Sony Ericsson W880i (driver AT)

• Sony Ericsson W950i (driver AT, rfcomm 7) send and receive SMS and Calls work
• Even Symbian S60 3rd gen can work with AT driver (you have to find the right RfComm channel)
• Mokia E61 Works for Calls and SMS (you have to fine the RFCOMM CHANNEL)

Phones known to NOT work

• Nokia Symbian S60 3rd gen series (Nokia E51, E61i) : in fact there is (limited ?) functionnality with AT driver ...
• Motorola K1m (verizon/cdma- version)
• Apple iphone

LG Shine. Will connect with AT and rfcomm set to 3 or 4 in Gconf. but then will error out.

Other working/non-working functions when using command-line gnokii binary

• Nokia 6280 : reading and writing Calendar entries work ; reading SMS stored on phone also works now (as of version 1.2).

• Nokia 6021 : reading SMS, Calendar, todo, phonebook work (didn't try to write yet); using echo "This is a test message" | gnokii --sendsms +48501123456 -r sends the sms message and returns a delivery report on the phone;
