The only torrent app ported to the 770 is a command line version called ctorrent.
This process was taken from iTt Apps Forum entry. Many thanks to Henry for porting ctorrent to Maemo!
- If you haven't already done so, install xterm by following the Using xterm wiki.
- Download the ctorrent installer package from www.xs4all.nl
- Install the package by selecting Applicaton Installer from the Control Panel and selecting the deb file downloaded in the previous step.
- To use ctorrent, open an xterm session (from extras)
- save a torrent file to a directory (normally on /media/mmc1/yoursubdir)
- change to that directory by typing cd /media/mmc1/yoursubdir
- ensure that you have an active network connection, since ctorrent will not start the network connection automatically.
- type /var/lib/install/usr/bin/ctorrent -p 6881 <torrent file> and press enter
- several messages will scroll by on the screen and the file will download the the current directory.
- ctorrent will continue to seed. to exit use the xterm menu option to send ctrl+c to kill ctorrent.
In OS2008 you can use the Trasmission client
I don't know, if it is in any repositories, but it can be downloaded from the maemo Garage:
