Better search method for Internet Tablet Talk site using Google

From Internet Tablet Talk

You can use google to search Internet Tablet Talk (ITT) for threads to learn about how to use you IT. This may be helpful if the regular search feature is not working too well (too many results, etc.) Google allows you to search a particular website on its "advanced search" page.

Here also is a user-created search in google: http://www.google.com/cse?cx=005981223421171304650%3Awt9tjwf2kd4

Also, there are wikis at both ITT and meamo.org sites that have useful information for beginners too. These wikis have guides to do many things on an IT.

Thank you very much to the user who created this and posted it in this thread: http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=103274

There is also a search plugin available for the Internet Search Applet on the Home screen: It uses "tabletSearch", a internet search based on the Google Custom Search Engine (CSE). It includes searches on maemo.org and internettabletttalk.com and is the "perfect" search plugin for anything Nokia Internet Tablet and Maemo related. You can get it (and other search plugins) from the Author's webpage)

Alternative method

With Firefox there is a way to do a Google search for any site you are currently visiting.

- Add a new bookmark using the bookmark manager. In the dialog fill in name: (anything you like) location (one line):

javascript:void(location.href='http://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=
site:'+location.href.split(%22/%22)[2]+'+%s&sourceid=firefox')

keyword:

here:

- Use it by typing in the address bar:

here: <terms to search for>

Now you will see Google results for only the website you are visiting. You can change the keyword to anything you like but by adding something unique to it like ':' you won't use the keyword by accident.

- To use the address bar for any Google search see this page.
